How to Spot the Dark Empath


Empathy is rightfully valued among those who help persons with disabilities (PWDs). It enables us to understand other people’s needs, feelings, and perspectives so that we may respond to them in an appropriate manner. A lot of helping professionals even label themselves as empaths. However, there is a type of empath that possesses profound and accurate insights about people, then uses that understanding to destroy others. Psychologists call such a dangerous person “dark empath”.


There are toxic individuals in most families, workplaces, and organizations. So it’s not a surprise that among the people who attend to PWDs, some self-proclaimed empaths are acquiring narcissistic supply by showing off their fake compassion while abusing people behind the scenes.
